Turn your camera into a smoke & fire detector
Point-in-time satellite passes and dispatch feeds miss the first minutes of a fire. A network of everyday cameras, pointed at the hills, ridgelines and canyons people already watch, can catch the first wisp of smoke and help confirm it fast.
Your video is never live-streamed or shared with anyone. Detection runs on your side; fire.ai only receives the detection signal (a smoke/fire flag with time, confidence and camera location), never your footage. Those signals are cross-checked against satellites, 911 dispatch and other sources before anything is shown publicly.
What being a beta participant looks like:
- You keep full control of your camera and feed.
- We work with you to register each camera's location, direction and field of view.
- Detections from your camera get corroborated with other feeds to cut false alarms.
- You help shape a volunteer early-warning layer for your own community.
